Foundation & Vision

HORT was established in Hargeisa, Somaliland by passionate Somali professionals and international collaborators with a shared vision — locally driven, evidence-based solutions to interconnected challenges facing the Horn of Africa.

Founded by professionals committed to bridging science with community impact.

Building the Foundation

HORT positioned itself as a regional hub across the 4H sectors — combining scientific expertise, indigenous knowledge, and practical innovation to deliver research, training, and consultancy services.
